-- Repairing dry rot around exterior of home in preparation for new owners --
After a pest inspection, McCray’s Handyman, Inc. DBA McCray and Sons Home Services was called out to do repairs of dry rot on the exterior of the home. The homeowners had just sold their home and as part of the selling agreement, the sellers were to repair some exterior dry rot around the house.
The sellers were finding it difficult to find a contractor that was willing to make the repairs, what they found in their search for a contractor, was that contractors were only offering estimates to replace the entirety of the siding at an exorbitant cost. As the seller's favorite local handyman, McCray and Sons Home Services had serviced the home several times in the past for smaller jobs and they thought they would reach out to see if we could help.
McCray and Sons Home Services sent a technician out to review all the repairs that the inspector had cited, an estimate was sent out to the seller for approval. When the estimate was approved, the work was scheduled to begin. McCray’s began with removing the damaged trim, siding, and trim boards, cleaning up the site and then replacing them with new boards which were prepped, sealed and painted. Over all the customer saved a ton by having McCray’s Handyman, Inc. address only the areas of concern cited in the inspection.
