Taking Care of Home — and Family
This month’s issue is a little more personal for us. We recently spent some time working on my parents’ home, tackling a whole list of repairs, maintenance projects, and small upgrades throughout the property. It’s a great example of something we see all the time: a home doesn’t always need one huge renovation. Sometimes it’s a collection of those nagging little projects that makes the biggest difference.
We’re also talking about dry rot — how to recognize it, what causes it, and why dealing with damaged wood early can help keep a smaller repair from becoming a much larger one.
And, as always, we’ve mixed in some fun with local events, Fix It Funny, and our Supporting Locals feature. We hope you find something useful, something interesting, and maybe something that makes you smile.
One Trusted Team for a Whole Home-Repair List
For most of my life, my dad was the person who handled projects around the house. If something broke, needed adjusting, or could be improved, he took care of it. But aging changes what we can safely and comfortably do. Projects that were once simple become more difficult, repairs get postponed, and the list gradually grows.
