Some bathroom remodels are about freshening up a space. Others are about finally finishing a long-awaited dream. This bathroom in West Sacramento had been waiting years for a proper remodel, with walls left open and a makeshift setup in place. While the space was functional, it wasn’t finished — and our customer was more than ready to finally see her bathroom transformed.
From Waiting to Wonderful
When we first walked in, the bathtub, vanity, and toilet were still in place, but much of the bathroom walls had been torn down to the studs and covered with plastic sheeting. The plan at first was simple: replace the tub with another tub. But after talking with our customer about how she actually used the space, we recommended considering a walk-in shower. It would not only give her a more comfortable daily experience, but also set her up for safe and easy use in the years ahead.
She agreed — and that decision became the turning point for this remodel.
A FlexStone Shower Upgrade
We installed a FlexStone 60" x 30" Alcove Shower Pan along with the 9-Piece Wall Surround Kit and the 48" Window Trim Kit in Oyster finish. The FlexStone system gave the shower a seamless, high-end look that is durable and easy to clean. The window kit especially made a big difference — allowing us to properly waterproof and trim the shower window without sacrificing style.
To complete the shower, we added a Delta Arvo In2ition 2-in-1 shower system in chrome and an Oatey stainless steel drain.
Walls, Flooring & Finishes
With the shower installed, we rebuilt the surrounding space:
Installed new drywall, taped, skimmed, and textured to match
Primed and painted the walls, ceiling, and trim
Installed LIFEPROOF waterproof luxury vinyl plank flooring
Reset the existing toilet with new seals after flooring install
For the vanity, we upgraded to a Sedgewood single-sink vanity with Arctic solid surface top paired with a Delta Casara faucet, tying the finishes together beautifully.
Safety & Comfort
During the remodel, we talked with our customer about adding grab bars for extra security. Rather than installing them right away, we encouraged her to use the new shower first and pay attention to her natural hand placements — the spots where she instinctively reached for balance or support.
Once she felt confident about where those points were, she called us back. We returned and installed the grab bars in the exact locations that made the most sense for her, giving her both peace of mind and a safer, more comfortable showering experience.
The Final Result of a Bathroom Remodel
This remodel turned a space that had sat unfinished for years into a bright, modern bathroom that’s both stylish and comfortable. The FlexStone shower became the centerpiece, complemented by durable flooring, fresh paint, and thoughtful safety features.
Our favorite part? Seeing the smile on our customer’s face as she finally stepped into a bathroom she could truly enjoy.
